The Mongolian pavilion at the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia has officially opened.

 

The special preview of the Biennale Arte 2024 for professionals began on April 16th, 2024, followed by the pre-opening days from April 17th to 19th, 2024, for international professionals and media.

 

The Mongolian pavilion officially opened on April 18th. H.E. Narantungalag Tserendorj, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Italy, officially opened the Mongolian Pavilion 2024 at the Biennale Arte and welcomed  H.E. Giovanna Piccarreta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Italy to Mongolia, along with 50 international media representatives on the press conference and 200 invited guests for the inauguration and opening reception. The governmental authority was also represented by Sergelen Bold, Director of the Cultural Policy Department from the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia, Tsenguun Bolor, Director of the Department of Cultural Relations and Foreign Cooperation from the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia, Antonio Paone, and Paolo Bonetti, Honorary Consuls of Mongolia, and Mandakhtsetseg Khurelbaatar, Minister Counsellor.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by the representing artist Ochirbold Ayurzana, curator of the Mongolian Pavilion Oyuntuya Oyunjargal, co-curator Gregor Jansen, project director, and coordinator for fundraising Damdinsuren Khurelbaatar, and other invited guests such as cultural envoys of Mongolia in European countries. At the official opening ceremony, the curator and the artist expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all private individuals and governmental and private organizations who rendered financial and in-kind support that made it possible for Mongolia to showcase itself on the important international art scene.

 

On the same evening, the Venice Biennale invited the commissioners, curators, and artists from the 88 participating countries to Ca’ Giustinian. At the official cocktail reception, the President of La Biennale di Venezia, Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, and artistic director & curator Adriano Pedrosa warmly welcomed the Mongolian delegation.
